This is a HIT response for the TARGET I sent out last week regarding the death of a student at our school. The resources sent were very useful and the information has already proved to help with some students who are still having a terrible time grieving. Thanks so much! I'm sorry for your loss. How very sad. One of my favorite books is Heavenly Village by Cynthia Rylant. I think many would find it comforting. Jaye Masters Rabun County Elementary Tiger, GA I just read a book on this very topic - the author lost her 5th grade classmate to murder. Called: Girls of Tender Age by Mary-Ann Tirone Smith. Truly an incredible read, along the lines of Angela's Ashes, except with a true crime thrown in. YA's would love it, but it is over the head of middle-schoolers. The author however did not realize how traumatized she was to lose a classmate, mostly because the adults around her; her teacher, said, "there will be no more talk of Irene," and there wasn't, for about 25 years. _________________________ Patricia Sarles, MA, MLS Passages Academy Libraries 941 Rev.
