My humble opinion is: if you followed your collection development
guidelines or policy when you purchased the books then you should be
prepared to defend them for all students.  But perhaps that is not where
the problem lies. 

Maybe you need to re-evaluate your collection development policy.  Every
library collection development policy that I have seen assesses the
community in which the library exists.  Perhaps you need to re-assess
that part of your collection development policy - to see if those types
of titles fit within your community's profile.  

Creating a special mature section might be hard to "police".  Do you
want to become a library "policewoman"?  You might be creating more
problems than you already have because some students may protest that
you are denying them the right to read.
