My fifth grade AEP group (10 kids) are interested in having penpals. Do any of you know any safe sites for penpals or are there any LM_Netters who would like to have their students write to our students? This group of 10 students are in the acceleration and enrichment program, but not all are extremely talented in writing. But it would be a good experience and they are very interested! I would have to check the policies of my school district before starting this program. (Alas, the days are gone when a teacher just passed out addresses and we chose one. I wrote for years to my penpals in NJ and Utah!) We are in Maryland, so an area with a different climate would be great! We could even write using our school addresses for privacy, if necessary. Reply to me personally. Thanks, Deb Hendrickson Deborah J.
