I have struggled with this before. BLOGS are often a great place to find
interesting points of view. But how do you evaluate them for inclusion in a works
cited list? If the author gives info on his/her credentials - it is easier - but
when they don't..... Yes - I can Google the author's name. In this case it seemed
to bring up nothing but sites with his name listed but no information about him.

I have a student doing research on the role of YouTube in politics. She has cited
the following blog post:
http://www.parislemon.com/2007/06/cnn-and-youtube-making-politics-matter.html

Normally I would not allow a site that lacks author information or a reliable
organization. However - I can see there is value to collecting public opinion on
the net.....

So - I guess I will advise her to make sure she finds another, more authoritative
site to bolster her works cited list and not throw this one out completely.

Opinions?
