So, is anyone else taking any fallout over this?

Well, being my library's unofficial Harry Potter expert, everyone is coming to me
with this story.

Personally, it did not surprise me in the slightest. In fact, book 7 makes more
sense to me now.

When Harry & Dumbledore speak after Harry has been "killed," Dumbledore speaks of
Grindelwald in over-the-top terms, "inflamed me."

Then, he waits five years, letting Grindelwald come to power as a dark wizard,
avoiding a confrontation. When they do meet in battle, Grindelwald has the
"all-powerful death wand."

How, in this case, did Dumbledore overpower him, I wondered. Well, now it makes
perfect sense. Grindelwald chose to not fight back.

Also, as people make the "We did not need to know this" complaint, I ask:

Did you enjoy the othe rrevelations about other characters, like Ron going to run
Weasley's Wizarding wheezes shops with George?

Did you enjoy learning that Luna grew to be a Naturalist?

Yes, Yes, they say.

Then what is wrong about JK revealing an aspect of Dumbledore that was hinted at
but not revealed in the books?

You can your bottom dollar that if JK had said, "Dumbledore had been in love with a
young woman who had died tragically," everyone would be going "AAAWWWWWWW,"
thinking it sweet and tragic and totally wonderful.

But because he was gay, it is wrong to reveal it.

HMMPH!
