I added a few Nora Roberts this year. My selection of Romance novels
was sparse so this year I added Rosamunde Pilcher, Debbie Macomber, Nora
Roberts. Pilcher is totally appropriate and is checked out steadily.
Debbie Macomber has some titles that are totally appropriate, while some
of her "Navy" series have very graphic sex scenes, but set in the
context of married life. Since I added these titles, students have asked
for other authors: Tracie Peterson, Beverly Lewis, Cindy Woodsmall and
Wanda Brunstetter. These authors fall into the category of
"inspirational romance" - they are appropriate.

Subject: Nora Roberts in a High School Library

I read with interest the post about Nora Roberts winning the Quill
Award. Each year I ask my high school students what they would like to
have in the library; and each year they request Danielle Steele, Nora
Roberts, and Sandra Brown. What's your professional opinion of that as
appropriate collection material for high school and how many of you
carry it?
