I am a student at Florida State University and I expect to graduate with my MLIS in December 2008. I understand that there are many differences between the "real" world and academia, but it has been extremely confusing to see so many LM_Net professionals explaining how and why they violate the basic tenets of professional behavior that I am learning in all of my classes. Drawing diapers on naked toddlers, ripping out pages, and other strange choices of professionals...I am disappointed to see how many people readily admit to various types of behavior that our professors teach us are, quite simply, unacceptable. I hope that I will have the courage "to fight for the right for free access to information." (Linda Martin, LM_Net, September 16, 2007). At Florida State, our professors are teaching us that having that courage is our professional responsibility. Amy P.
