Dear Dorothy I agree with all you say, and pointed Jacquie in the direction of Jamie McKenzie's articles on Powerpointlessness. http://fno.org However, I believe the problem starts before the research process even starts, and that is with the task the teacher or teacher librarian assigns. It should be worded in such a way that copy-and-paste just does not work, starting with verbs such as compare, contrast, analyse, justify, evaluate and all those others that invoke higher order thinking skills.
