I don't get anything for School Librarian Day (when is / was it?), but every time I
attend a staff meeting and hear how report cards are changing, or about a new
computer system for lunch/attendance, or new curriculum, I just sit back and say
(to myself), "another reason to be thankful I'm a librarian." I don't put much
stock into the "all you do is read" stuff, and yes, my job is tough in it's own
way, but I would NEVER go back to the classroom with all of the pressure on
teachers today.

for what they want right now.

Boy do I feel lucky. I received a lovely gift from three teachers for School
Librarian Day. They said they wanted me to know how truly appreciated I am. And one
of the biggest things they appreciate . . . the snacks I always have in my office.
