[LM_NET] ELEM: Book title

Hello all,

My principal is looking for a book she read aloud to her class when she was a 
fourth grade teacher.? She said the main characters are Dakota (boy) and Florida 
(girl).? They were orphans that were saved by an older family who brought them to 
their home in North Carolina (she thinks).? Florida goes on boating trips with the 
father and Dakota takes hiking trips with the mother.? Anyone know the title???
