I only got a couple of responses but a lot of requests for a hit. I guess
I'll be sure to post after the fact to share what not to miss next time
someone goes:

From Kelly Stern~~

I'm an author groupie, so I try to attend as many author sessions as I can
(there are LOTS to choose from). I'm especially looking forward to the
Sherman Alexie luncheon on Thursday and the session with Gail Giles and
Jerry Spinelli on Tuesday ("A Genre to Engage Every Young Adult
Reader"). Also,
Harvey Daniels (the literature circle book author) is doing a session called
"Active Learning Through Inquiry and Investigation" that sounds right up my
alley. There are too many good sessions to choose from, all at the same
time.

Last year was the first year I attended IRA, and I wasn't prepared for all
of the free books I would be bringing home. Fortunately, there was a Fed Ex
near the Convention Center, and I ended up shipping a box of books
home. During
the last couple of hours of exhibits, some of the publishers were giving
away their display books so they wouldn't have to ship them--I don't know if
that's a regular occurrence or not, but I loved it!

My school district was chosen for Young Adults' Choices for 2007-2010, which
is why I'm going to IRA. I'll be working in the Young Adults' Choices booth
(#1332) on Wednesday morning from 9-10:30, so if you happen by, please say
hi. Librarians are definitely a minority at IRA!

From Dianne Murray~~

Don't miss me!!! I just started working for Art in History, Inc. and I get
to go to the IRA, since I live less than an hour out of AtlantaI've been a
teacher for over 36 years, 33 of them as a school librarian. I have my BA in
English and MLS in library services. I retired, at least temporarily for a
year and maybe longer...... Anyway, I have a part time job selling
historic replicas of art that students decorate to reflect the time period
and culture from which it came. It is cool and unique and I can't wait to
see cutie Andrew doing his thing at the convention!!! You can see him on
our website, but he is wearing a suit and has an industrial hair combing
going on, so it looks funny to me.

See you at the convention!!! Hope your spring is everything you could
dream of!!

(If your school wants a catalog or sample kit, let me know!)
