Dear Colleagues, I'm pleased and excited to introduce my new children's book, R IS FOR RESEARCH which is newly published by Upstart Books and is featured on the front of the new UpstartBooks catalog. For those who are coming to TLA next week, I'll be signing and chatting at the Upstart booth on Wednesday, April 16 from 1:00-3:00. Please stop by and say hi! Rather than tell you about R IS FOR RESEARCH myself, I'd like to share a review written by Ruth Culham, author of the 6+1 Traits of Writing and national literacy consultant: "In this timely new picture book from stellar children's author Toni Buzzeo, readers explore the inner workings of the research report. Written in alphabet style, the clever text hums long with a lovely rhythm and cadence. I'm a cat lover, so I couldn't help but fall in love with the idea of following the steps of producing and presenting a research report using cats as the model. There's just so much to love about this book. Students of all ages will find it informative and clever. Teachers and librarians will appreciate the lessons, graphic organizers, and tips found in the supplement that accompanies the text. Use this book to help kids research a topic of their own (even if it isn't about cats!), develop PowerPoint presentations, and present the information to the class using today's technology. This book deserve a place in every teacher's classroom where thoughtful and original research writing is a goal." ~ Ruth Culham Best, Toni Toni Buzzeo, MA, MLIS <mailto:tonibuzzeo@tonibuzzeo.com> Maine Library Media Specialist of the Year Emerita Maine Association of School Libraries Board Member Buxton, ME 04093 http://www.tonibuzzeo.com R is for Research, illustrated by Nicole Wong (Upstart 2008) BRAND NEW! -------------------------------------------------------------------- Please note: All LM_NET postings are protected by copyright law.
