For those that requested it, here are the LOC instructions that Sandy Scroggs sent to me. Deb Waugh Librarian/Instructional Technologist The Emmett G. I have Alexandria V5. http://catalog.loc.gov/ To search click on Basic Search and select how you wish to search. When I find a record I want at LOC I place a check mark in the box before the record and scroll down to bottom of the page. From the drop down menu called Select Text of Marc format I select Marc (non-Unicode/Marc-8) and press the Save or Print button. This brings up a window with a long line of text. Select all and save as a text file. I then import the text file into my automation system or into Marc Magician where I can add or change information such as adding a barcode, price etc. I save the changes and can export the record as a microlif or text file. It really is pretty simple. I haven't used Fillet for an automation system in years. Feel free to ask questions. I've heard that there's a quick and easy way to download MARC records from the Library of Congress and input them to Follett Circulation Plus. I desperately need to be able to do this, but don't know how. Can one of you send me the "step-by-steps" of how to do it? Thanks so much! Deb Waugh Librarian/Instructional Technologist The Emmett G.
