Dear collective mind,

I just received a visit at home from a college student from Estonia who was trying
to sell me the Student Handbook, a 5 volume homework reference set from
Southwestern Company. The 5 volumes plus an annual update volume cost $513. He was
a seller and of course did a good job in trying to convince me to buy the
collection for my kids (he didn't know he was dealing with a tough librarian who
was going to do her research before buying anything!) Anyway, the books at first
sight look fairly useful to have in the HS library as a reference for students that
need help with homework, especially struggling students, but I didn't get the
chance to read the content. Anybody who knows this collection, could please give me
an opinion of them? I would really appreciate it!
I tried to find information on the open internet and EBSCO with no success. Only
got the controversy about the way that Southwestern Co. hires college students to
sell books door to door.

Thanks!
