LM_NET Archive



Actually, I think this is an appropriate forum to discuss this issue given that we, 
as library media professionals, teach Information Literacy, which includes 
responsible use of the Internet and information. If LM_NET is not an appropriate 
forum to discuss this serious issue, what is? Each day those of us who encounter 
young adults in our libraries are faced with situations where we must encourage 
responsible, informed use of information sources (including MySpace, blogs, wikis, 
etc). The Lori Drew case is an extreme example at the the far end of the spectrum 
that illustrates that information illiteracy can very often lead to risky behavior 
with tragic outcomes.
