[LM_NET] Black History Fiction Suggestions

My middle school students will be having a DEAR program in late January-the week of 
the Presidential Inauguration- and I want to supply them with some good fiction 
books that feature African American or minority characters in uplifting stories.  I 
am trying to coincide with the coming Black History month and the fact that our 
first African American President has just taken office.  These students are grades 
6-8, and I am BRAND NEW in this library!  Any suggestions would really be 
appreciated!  Thanks in advance.
