thanks to everyone for their responses to my query

ORIGINAL TARGET:

I work in a school that serves multiply handicapped children as well as emotionally
disturbed children.

Some of the able-bodied children resent that they are in the same school with
children in wheelchairs so I would like to purchase a dvd documentary on children,
(could be adults too), overcoming their disabilities.

For example, I have a documentary photography book of children who have learned to
use their feet to write, play, paint, etc. because they are missing their upper
limbs.

I would like a video about children or adults like this, something like a
nonfiction, My Left Foot. Even though that is based on a nonfiction book, it is a
movie and I want real people.

RESPONSES:

I can do it myself! [videorecording] / [produced by] Filmation Associates.
1 videocassette (14 min.) : sd., col. ; 1/2 in.
An episode of the CBS-TV animated cartoon program: Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids.
Wheeler, a new kid in the neighborhood, can't run and play like Fat Albert and the
gang because he's disabled - he relies on a wheelchair to get around. At first the
gang isn't quite sure how to approach Wheeler, and when they do try to be friendly,
he lets them know that he doesn't need or want their help. In the end, the gang
learns that people who may seem a little different can do surprising things, and
Wheeler learns that everyone needs a little help sometimes. Includes live-action
sequences of Bill Cosby commenting on and reinforcing the lessons learned from the
cartoon.
