I don't feel that it is set in stone that you have to complete the same lessons for
multiple classes. Many LMS do this because of the amount of planning time needed
to create lessons. Have you considered using a grid system for books per grade
level so that you read a different book to each class over a series of weeks? I
have used a chart like this:
Teacher nameWeek oneWeek 2Week 3Week 4
WoodsCinderellaBoy who cried wolfRepunzelJohn henry
NewmanBoy who Cried WolfRepunzelJohn HenryCinderella
HarrisRepunzelJohn HenryCinderellaBoy who Cried
HenryJohn HenryCinderellaBoy who criedRepunzel

The other option I have used is to use different books to emphasize the same
objective. For instance, if I am doing fairy tales, I read a different one to each
class and complete the same activity but with different answers. The beauty/curse
of being a librarian is that many times you have sole responsibility for what
happens in your facility. Use that flexibility to make it as enjoyable for your
students and yourself as possible.
