Angela, I'm replying to the entire listserv with my suggestion, b/c I think this is a great resource... http://www.issues2000.org/Quiz.htm This specific area of the website is an interactive quiz that you can take to help identify which presidential candidates hold positions that are most consistent with your own views on a variety of domestic, economic and foreign policy issues. After you take the quiz, it "racks and stacks" the declared candidates (from all parties) and their positions against your answers so you can see, for example, that candidate A matches your responses 80% of the time and candidate B 65% of the time, etc. The site also provides hyperlinks to provide background and more detailed explanations of each issue and even gives examples of how to define your positions. I haven't explored other areas of the site in depth, but this section is well balanced. The "about us" section of the site indicates that their mission is to provide non-partisan information for voters in the Presidential election, so that votes can be based on issues rather than on personalities and popularity, and that they get their information from newspapers, speeches, press releases, and the Internet. Hope this helps! :-) Sheri Zachary, Librarian Ravenwood ES Eagle River, Alaska 99577 Zachary_sheri@asdk12.org -----Original Message----- From: School Library Media & Network Communications [mailto:LM_NET@LISTSERV.SYR.EDU] On Behalf Of Angela Kauffman Sent: Monday, January 07, 2008 5:28 AM To: LM_NET@LISTSERV.SYR.EDU Subject: TARGET- Good Websites for Presidential Campaign '08 Hello! I am looking for reputable websites for information concerning the presidential candidates. I want my students to compare and contrast the candidates and was curious if any of you had any great sites in mind that you'd be willing to share. Thanks!
