Thanks for the help yesterday. She will be very impressed when I present the
list I’m giving her in a short time frame. I think everyone who sent
information was thanked and I had one request for a HIT. Here is the
information. Two people did send directions directing me to their blog or
school website and I didn’t want to post that. Perhaps if they want to post
their information, they can add to this HIT in their own posting.

The request was for different sites for older students similar to starfall.

1. Has she tried Literactive? HYPERLINK
"http://www.literactive.com/Home/index.asp"http://www.literactive.com/Home/i
ndex.asp We used it a lot with the advanced 2nd graders, 3rd graders and
lower level 4th. It is a little more challanging and entertaining for the
older/more advanced students. You do have to create a login (we just
created one and had all of the kids use it) but it is free and an unlimited
number (we had up to 30 at a go) of people can log on at the same time.
I also like Silly Books HYPERLINK
"http://www.sillybooks.net/"http://www.sillybooks.net/ but it is not as
interactive althoug it is good for struggling readers since it reads the
story tio them and highlights the words as it goes.

2. Scholastic's Book Flix is great! However, a subscription for a campus is
about $300.

3. TumbleBooks.com different services for different levels of readers.
There
are the animated picture books and the "Tumble-Readables" for older
students. It is not free, but it is a wonderful subscription service.

4. Has the teacher checked out HYPERLINK
"http://www.linktolearning.com"www.linktolearning.com ?
This is a subject sorted list of educational websites. I got these ones
from the ESL list, but I'm sure that there would be more in the Language
Arts list that would serve the teachers purposes as well (I think starfall
in in their Language arts list.) They look like fun and some of the
activities are along the same lines as starfall.
