While I think that the E on the spines of books is a great idea,
rather than using the term "EASY" books, perhaps using the term
"EVERYBODY" books would be better, especially for those struggling
readers who must read these books a bit longer than their peers.
Rather than "labeling" the student as an "easy book reader" it might
be less embarrassing to use the term "EVERYBODY" so that when the
student carries the book outside of the library it isn't an immediate
indication to others that the student is a struggling reader.

When students see a wide variety of age groups selecting from the
"easy books" section (my personal favorite in the elementary library),
they share their enjoyment of the book with one another without a
second thought...which is just as it should be.

Just a thought.
