I am working with a college librarian in our area to develop some ways to make a smooth transition from HS to college. We have looked at our practices and the way we teach research, info literacy with our colleagues - professors and teachers. However, we don't want to leave out just plain life skills either and so we want to target some areas of the hs/jc curriculum that will be applicable for students to insure that they are really life-long learners and users of information. Obviously, we have considered health and personal finance courses for our collaboration. We are looking for some anecdotes/situations/plans where a student has a dilemma that they need to resolve that will require them to use information literacy and higher level thinking skills. Would appreciate any ideas you all might have.Thanks. Carole -- The opinions expressed in this email are personal and do not necessarily reflect those of my employer. > Carole L.
