New member (actually rejoining member, after 12 year hiatus) and now at a 9-12 High School. I'm in charge of the library and the computer lab. Our computer lab is a hellhole, with the personality of a morgue. I would like to redecorate it as much as I can, and wondered if any of you had run across references on how different colors of paint might affect learning. Since we do all of our dreaded statewide testing in this room, I'd like it to be a bit more friendly and energizing. Right now the walls are eggshell white, with a huge, covered blackboard in blue and greens. The lighting is institutional fluorescents, 1960's vintage. I don't have a budget for this, so it's going to be handled with very limited volunteer funds/time. What things have you done to perk up your décor on a tight budget? Any good references you have found that helped you with planning this?
