While this year's date for Easter, March 23, may be the earliest actual date for
Easter, anybody who lived near Decatur,IL will remember another early Easter. In
1978 Easter was on March 26, and on good Friday we had an ice storm that devastated
the area. I remember it well because I was pregnant with my first son that year.
We live on a farm, and were without power for a week. That was the first of about
5 or 6 times (so far) that we've been without power for a week here on our farm.
Whenever they predict freezing rain around here, I fill buckets with water.
Because, when you live in the country, when the power goes out, you lose water,
too, and I like to be able to flush my toilet!
