Dear Colleagues,

I am looking for a recommendation of a memoir for a 9th grade accelerated
English class focusing on injustice as a theme. This request came to me from
our Language Arts/English supervisor. The students have already read Night by
Weisel. Two books immediately came to my mind" First They Killed My Father
and Black Like Me. Both of these feature situations that are unfamiliar to
students, especially in our community, because most know quite a bit about the
Holocaust.

I would appreciate any strong recommendations since I know there are many
books that could fit this criteria.
