I am wanting to hear from ELEMENTARY SLMS who work in a small school of not
over 20 teachers with around 300 kids with regards to what their written
schedule (on PAPER) says when not meeting/seeing classes. I have a new
principal this year and I expect a change to my schedule next school year.
She is open to suggestions and ideas and want to have some I can mull over
as school year progresses and see how they can fit into my personal
situation. I am needing named duties ( examples:
clerical/administrative/non-instructional) that fulfill a day. Looking for
duties/tasks/responsibilities other than "clerical" and "planning" and
"remediation/tutoring/intervention". Currently, I see each class weekly for
circulation ( 12 classes) THEN I see one class from each grade ( 7 classes)
another time for "call back" instruction only each week to total 19 classes
each week. I am looking for creative wording and
tasks/duties/responsibilities (which I might have overlooked) to fulfill the
empty space and time. With all of the extra time, I would much rather be in
the library being useful than being assigned to a teacher. Small school SLMS
get "overused" (abused?) with all the extra space and time in their
schedule.

thanks for any ideas you can share. I checked LM NET archives,
