Well I am old - very old today as we had open house last night - so very tired -- but I was taught (in library school in the 60s) to cite the city closest to the library...and also not to cite the state if the city was well known - such as New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, etc. Allan Dr. Allan O'Grady Cuseo, MGC Director of Library Services Bishop Kearney High School | A Golisano Education Partner 125 Kings Highway South Rochester, New York 14617 585.342.4000 x231 585.342.4694 (fax) acuseo@bkhs.org www.bkhs.org College Prep. Teachers and my co-librarian insist they were taught to cite the one closest to where you live, and have been teaching it that way here for years. Is this an old way it was done a generation ago? It does not make sense to me. No matter where you live, the citation should be the same.
