In my school, I am closed the first 2 days.  The next 3 I hold
orientation where every class comes in, I explain the rules and
procedures, then they have their first checkout period.  The second week
we begin our regular schedule.  It works well and keeps everyone happy
but most of all, allows students to have books the first week.
