Register now for The Association for Library Service to Children's
(ALSC) Online Continuing Education Courses! Courses include: The Tech
Savvy Booktalker, The Technology Enhanced Library Professional, and
Sharing Poetry with Children. Another course, Reading Instruction and
Children's Books, is also being offered but unfortunately registration
is currently full for the fall 2008 session. All courses were selected
by the ALSC Education Committee, and will be offered again in February
2009 and summer 2009.

Courses are being taught in an online learning community using Moodle
(http://moodle.org <http://moodle.org/> ) and will begin Oct. 6 and run
through Nov. 14. Registration is available on the ALSC Web site at
www.ala.org/alscevents.  Course fees are $95 for personal ALSC members;
$145 for personal ALA members; and $165 for non-members.

ALSC is not authorized to grant CEU credits. Requirements vary by state
and school district and usually determine eligibility by reviewing your
certificate of completion and course syllabus. The decision to grant
CEU credits remains entirely up to your state or school district.
ALSC's online courses are the equivalent of a one day face-to-face
workshop. A certificate of completion will be sent to each participant
upon successful completion of each course taken.

For more information, contact ALSC Deputy Aimee Strittmatter at
astrittmatter@ala.org.
