To all MS librarians: Do you have a YA section in your library? I am new to this school this year and I have inherited a YA section. I'm assuming that the previous librarian thought that these books were for more mature students due to language or s*x. My problem with this section is that some books that I would deem to fall into those categories, are out on the shelves with the rest of the collection so I'm not sure how these decisions were made and I rather not have this section at all. I would prefer to intershelve all of the books and speak to kids individually about their choices. How common is the YA concept in middle schools? My previous middle school experience was in a shared HS/MS library and all of our books were on the shelves together.*************************** Juliann T.
