Hello Everyone,
I have just started a new position as a K-5 librarian in two elementary schools (on
a weekly schedule, when I am at one school a library assistant is at the other) and
the school is trying to get AR started up. I used AR in my last district, but we
were buying the quizzed indivually and it was nice and easy to maintain a list of
which books were AR and which were not. I went and used highsmith star labels to
show point levels and printed out AR quiz lists straight from the AR Program.

With the new school we are using Enterprise, and I have been reading many of the
posts on LM Net about AR, but I did want to ask a question or two of those of you
who are also using the program.

We have ordered it, but it is not installed, nor have I had the
training/professional development time, but I have read the website and flyers and
PDFs available. I was wondering how most of you found out which of your books were
AR when you use Enterprise? I was reding that in general you have to go to the Ren
Learning site and type in each title. But the representative from AR told me that
Book Guide would do that for me, and allow me to upload my Marc records. But when I
asked specific questions she sent me information that seemed more directed towards
the Quiz Buying population, and not Enterprise, sending links about exporting your
AR quiz lists....but I would be wanting information about IMPORTING my Marc
records, and I found nothing that tell me I can do that, other than the
representative.

Does Book Guide even work with Enterprise? Is there anyone here who uses both? I
just am not sure how to start this whole process, and if I really do need to type
in 20,000 titles I'd like to know before I spend 200 dollars of my library budget
on something that won't do what I need, I'm sure you understand. Plus I'll need to
stop sleeping so that I can use all 24 hours in a day to type titles in ren
learning, haha..

Thanks!
