I'm taking the plunge with my first question - Many of my questions have been
answered between reading posts and archives and I'm thankful to you as a group of
colleagues for your wisdom and insight.
I'm in a small elementary media center (preK-6) in a charter school.
This is our first year with a functioning media center and we are slowly entering
our collection into a circulation system (Koha because it's open source and
affordable) Each classroom has several reading circles
going on each day. Teachers check out the class set for an extended time (usually
four weeks, sometimes into six weeks). Because of the extensive preparation,
teachers want to be able to reserve sets so they are guaranteed that the title they
plan for will be there. (and yes, we do keep a database of these plans so we're not
reinventing the wheel) Until I can get a working circulation system, do you have
suggestions for a "reserve" system that will work? Thanks in advance!
