Well, my old HP laserjet 4000n printer finally bit the dust. It was an old
one given to me by the principal. My school does a lot of high volume
printing during research and senior projects. With this old machine, I could
usually print about 5,000 copies from August-March on one cartridge. (I do
restrict printing to 5 pages per day per student). My problem is that my
budget for "supplies" as it is called will only be about $800. The district
office and school never just buys the library anything. A 4000 series
printer would cost more than that (from what I can gather from some
sites-most shopping sites are blocked). I prefer HP, laser and only black.
Any help you could give would be appreciated. If you are happy with yours
and how it handles student printing, please submit to me personally with the
name and series number.
Knowledge is free at the library. Just bring your own container.
