Hello wise ones, The students in this district are not given their own computer accounts until 7th grade. I have been toying with the idea of introducing iGoogle to them in 6th grade and having set up their own accounts. We could then use google docs and they could have access to their work 24/7. I'd also like to show them delicious and show the teachers how we can feed bookmarks to the kids easily via RSS. Is there anyone out there using iGoogle with their upper elementary students? How does it work? The pitfalls I've come up with are: 1) the requirement for email accounts. Is there any way around this? 2) the ability to "chat" within iGoogle. Can I turn that off? I'd like to have a very comprehensive proposal to bring to administration, and I'm hoping that you all can help me think of the potential objections and ways to address them. Thanks in advance! I will post a HIT if anyone is interested.
