[LM_NET] Query: Info on 1000 paper cranes

Hello All,

Can anyone point me in the right direction for info on the meaning of  
folding 1000 paper cranes and/or giving them as a gift?

I know about Sadako and the cranes, and I have the Wikipedia entry,  
but I'm just wondering if there is more info out there on what they  
symbolize.

Thank you for any additional info you can give me.
