[LM_NET] TARGET: Your favorite picks for Newbery & Caldecott

My toddler twins and other responsibilities are keeping me extra busy this year, 
and I haven't been able to take the time I usually do to search for books to use in 
my mock Caldecott (K-4th) and mock Newbery (5th & 6th) unit.  I've had time to read 
almost no chapter books, so have no ideas for Newbery contenders, other than what 
I've gleened from best seller lists and reviews.  My favorites for Caldecott so far 
are (in no particular order):

"Birds" by Kevin Henkes
"The Lion & The Mouse" by Jerry Pinkney
"Never Smile at a Monkey" by Steve Jenkins
"Hook" by Ed Young
"Listen to the Wind" by Greg Mortenson & Susan L. Roth
"Otis" by Loren Long

But, I haven't seen nearly as many of these as I like either.  If anyone sends 
suggestions, I'd be glad to compile a list for others to use.  Thank you!
