Terri-

Are you sure you want to get in this fight?

I would certainly agree to not check out ANY books to her student if that is the
parents wish. It is not your job to screen material for individual students, merely
to follow your district selection policy. I would attempt to have that conversation
in front of the student, as well, so she understands the reason she may not check
out materials.

Hi folks:

I'm in need of a written response to a parent that does not want their child
(Kindergarten) to check out books with the word "stupid" in them. She has made the
suggestion that this is due to poor monitoring of the students in library. Of
course, this is totally not the case, simply a different view of what my job is and
what her job as a parent entails. Does anyone have anything already written up as
I know this has happened to many of us many times.

Thanks,
