Here is my original post: I would like to order some new Manga Series for my collection (High School). I found some suggestions for series that are currently popular. I need to know if there is questionable sexual content in any of them. I can look at a book or two, but sometimes the stuff that is inappropriate comes later or in a different place in the series. Recommendations are welcome. Thanks in advance! Thanks to everyone who responded. I was able to order easily using your suggestions. ? We have Maximum ride at our middle school. The kids love it and I have not found anything inappropriate thus far. ? We have the Cirque de Freak written series in our collection...very popular....no complaints so far. Kare Kano we can't keep on the shelves. ? The best way to avoid sexual content is to not purchase anything that it rated 16+ or higher. Nearly all of the manga companies have learned to rate their series in advance (at least as much as they possibly can, since some series are still being published in Japan) With that being said, of the series listed below, the following should be safe for a high school library setting: Cirque du Freak http://yenpress.us/?page_id=520 Fairy Tail http://www.randomhouse.com/delrey/manga/catalog/results.pperl?authorid=79087 Fullmetal Alchemist http://www.viz.com/products/products.php?product_id=5102 Kare Kano http://www.tokyopop.com/product/1087 Maximum Ride http://yenpress.us/?page_id=444 Ouran High School Host Club http://www.viz.com/products/products.php?product_id=5114 Shaolin Sisters is OOP, but Shaolin Sisters Reborn might work http://www.tokyopop.com/product/1362/ShaolinSistersReborn/1 Train + Train http://www.gocomi.com/index.php?module=manga&sub=series_detail&subsub=volumes&s_id=7 Tsubasa, RESERVoir CHRoNiCLE http://www.randomhouse.com/delrey/manga/catalog/results.pperl?authorid=58456 I'd say that gives you a pretty good base to start from. Out of those listed above, my vote would be for the following in my library, Cirque du Freak, Fullmetal Alchemist, Maximum Ride & Ouran High School Host Club. ? You might take a look at the new Texas Maverick List which is a new recommendation list just for graphic novels. They have a section for HS. Don't know how many anime titles are included, but you can see the list at www.txla.org click on the link to the left which says "READING LISTS". Choose "Maverick".
