[LM_NET] Slap in the face

I've been in both places. Sad to say, there are more who overlook the
librarian than those who thank and appreciate him/her. However, the few that
have thanked me and remembered me with gifts and run into me years later and
not only remembered me, but thanked me and explained how something I did
changed their appreciation for reading and formed them in a way that changed
their educational path or joy in life...well, I still strive to help and
influence as many students as I can, but, I'll take the thanks over gifts
any day!

And, as long as the Principal doesn't hold the same opinion as that parent,
I'd feel really golden!
