These are tough times - if I parent bought for the librarian, and the
principal and the gym coach and the nurse and every single teacher
and....and....and.....it would be tough. Don't look for your validity in
material things!!! How many gifts you receive does not validate your
position in your school - and neither do your degrees I'm sorry to say.
I've seen people with doctorates who were the worst in the field and I've
seen people with Masters who cannot do their job along with the ones who
can. Just because we have Masters degrees does not automatically mean we
should show it off to get respect. Yes, we worked hard to get them, but we
are NOT important because of those pieces of paper. The work you perform is
what gives you respect! Bottom line, just be the best you can be, and look
for your validity in the children and teachers you see and help each day!
