Joanne,

The DDC 21 (the last version I bought) entitles 306 "Culture and
Institution." Kind of nebulous but as you pointed out, it covers a very
wide listing of topics!

Subject: SEC: Labeling Nonfiction Shelves

I am trying to label all of my nonfiction shelves. I think with the
internet it helps if we have our hard copies displayed in a more user
friendly way and having the books identified on the shelves helps. I am
having trouble with identifying the word or words to use to label some
of the shelves i.e...."306"... the books I have on that shelf are
Genetic engineering, Gays, Incest, Teen Sex, and Sex so does anyone know
of a good web site that would help me choose a good word to describe the
books on that shelf. My Abridged Dewey is not helping with this project.

Thanks,
