An English 12 teacher has asked me for suggestions of appealing fiction books that a 12th-grade class could read as a whole. Some of the ideas we've considered include Nineteen Minutes by Jodi Picoult and Empire Falls by Russo. The teacher's only qualifier is that he wants a book substantial enough to stimulate a good conversation. But he doesn't want anything too long, since these students are busy getting ready to graduate. Does anyone have any suggestions? I am curious to hear what books you might recommend. Thanks in advance.
