Subject: [VEMA] GEN: MLA Handbook 7th edition

This may have already been discussed on the listserv, but I recently
helped a patron at my part time job at a community college and stumbled
across the new MLA Handbook. It prompted discussion amongst my coworkers
about revamping student handouts and informing professors about the
changes in the seventh edition. These same issues are pertinent for any
citation instruction at any level.

The seventh edition of the MLA Handbook for Writers of Research Papers
was published in April 2009. Few college web sites or online citation
machines have updated their programs to reflect the changes in the
latest version of MLA style. However, one of the best sites to consult
is The Purdue Online Writing Lab or OWL at
http://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/resource/557/15/

On this page Purdue has listed five noteworthy things that have changed
in the seventh edition.
It is worth a look.
