Greetings All, I have been very fortunate in my 5 years as a K-5 Librarian, as I have had a 3-hr/day clerk (assistant). She was just laid off, and I am stunned. I have no idea how I'm going to run a library without her. I am release time for teachers, which means I teach all day in 40 minute blocks. I can't wrap my head around how I'm going to check out/reshelve books, follow overdues, pull resources for teachers, etc. and teach full time. I know many things I do will have to be modified or just not done anymore. I understand that many of you have never had, or have been without clerks for a while now. Please share how you manage to run your libraries, teach 21st century skills, be a reading advocate, etc. I need suggestions in just about every aspect. I'm feeling nearly drowned and need some good logical suggestions to pull me out of the choppy waters. I will post a hit if there is interest. Thank you in advance!
