Dear Colleagues; All work regarding textbooks for two campuses has been added to my duties. Every surface in my library is currently covered by thousands of textbooks. The superintendent feels I can get all the sorting, repairs, inventory and storage of the textbooks, in addition to my library collection inventory (19,000 items) accomplished in 5 days. (Another 5 days work would be allowed to check-out and distribute textbooks before school resumes in August.) For these ten days, I am to be paid a small daily stipend, similar in amount to the pay for a substitute. Do any of you have a similar situation? How many days are you allotted to get everything done? Do you receive a stipend, or do you have contract days for summer work?
