[LM_NET] Copyright Question

A teen book blogger that I know wants to do a contest that goes  
something like this:
1. She contacts authors and asks them what songs would be on their  
book's soundtracks.
2. She makes a playlist of these songs.
3. She burns a CD of this playlist and gives it away in the contest.

Is this okay? Our concern was that while she might not be profiting  
(except by greater exposure for her blog), it does promote the  
authors' books, and they are participants in a sense.
