Hello I need to present a behavior plan before the end of the year as my position next year is dependent on classroom management. I need that this plan will not to involve the administration ( that has been the advice) As I see by myself, most classes (20-25 children) once a week for 35 minutes it is hard to implement I have sent letters home, called parents, gave prizes for good behavior, gave assigned seats and changed them, posted rules in the media room., talked with the teachers, held kids during lunch time with me, gave disruptive students a job, I let students stand outside the media center (we are not allowed to do this anymore) and took away activities from students. I am still having a hard time especially with 5th graders. I find it hard to be consistent while seeing about 350 students a week. I also realize that giving the children a lot of work is not going to keep the disruptive ones from acting out. Books on classroom management are written for teachers who see the students the whole day. So if any of you have a good plan that may help me please post me an e mail Sincerely, Madeleine Zember Hempstead Schools NY -------------------------------------------------------------------- Please note: All LM_NET postings are protected by copyright law.
