I totally agree with Tony. I did the same thing with Reading Counts only 
the have the person who followed me move them all to one place. I too 
felt the students needed to be able to locate a book and perhaps when 
looking for their RC book they might find another of interest. Since I 
am in an elementary school I am not as detailed with Dewey as I may be 
if I was in a public or secondary library. I have the 599's all on the 
same shelf because it is not worth the stress to order them on the 
shelf. My students shelve their own books because I have no assistant 
and I have no extra time. I do what works for me. I would not want to 
totally give up Dewey. Using the catalog is easy and the system is not 
that hard to understand. People do not need to memorize the numbers or 
anything like that so what is the problem?
