Here are two more signage suggestions. I apologize for leaving them out on the
previous hit.
We have section signs on our walls; we paid big bucks to get them cut from acrylic
for durability, but you could just as easily go to a store like Hobby Lobby and get
large foam letters. We also have section signs on the ends of our shelves with
books as "eye candy" to lure the kiddos.Additionally, we have our sections/books
with the exception of Fiction,color coded on the spines for easier
searching/locating. For example,Series books have blue stickers on the spines,
adult content have red stickers, Biography is orange & Sci-Fiction/Fantasy is
purple. We bought the stickers from www.demco.com
I have always wanted the art classes to do sculptures that I could set on the tops
of bookcases. It is a nice visual to point kids to. I just haven't been able to
stir up any interest.
