Missouri has recently revised our standards to reflect the fact that
many of the periodicals students will use for research are available
through EbscoHost, which is provided to most public schools at no cost
to the school. We are moving toward periodicals that are more for
recreational reading. That will probably affect how much money we spend
on periodicals, but I'm not sure which way yet.

I'm in the process of making some changes, but since I order directly
(no jobber) it will be a work in progress for a few years. We have along
weekend coming up soon, and I'm going to spend some of it preparing a
survey for our students that will (I hope) help me pick some magazines
that they would actually like to read.
